On his second single Do It Again​, ​darvid thor (The Cactus Channel, Frida, Karate Boogaloo) further explores what it’s like to make music alone. After playing and writing in bands for over a decade, ​Do It Again is the latest taste of Darvid’s solo venture, and it finds real solace in the solitary.

It might seem just dreamy on first listen, with its meandering guitar lines and warm, woozy synthesisers, Thor’s voice at turns a light falsetto and a warm tenor but ​Do It Again handles material that’s sometimes heavy with a light touch. At times anxious and quietly anguished, tender and candid, the song is about growing-up and learning to be content in yourself.

Darvid recorded ​Do It Again a​nd the rest of an EP alone in his bedroom — but for some drum/percussion help from Cactus Channel bandmate Hudson Whitlock on lead single ‘Rest of Your Life’ — over the course of a year or so. Having spent most of his musical career as an integral member of The Cactus Channel and Frida, Thor saw a solo project as an exhilarating, if daunting opportunity to learn more about himself, as a musician and as a person.
